Pastor Thomas Ondrea
Pastor Thomas Ondrea (PT) was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania in the city of Wilkes-Barre. He describes being called into ministry at the age of 13 when he had the feeling that God wanted him to do something very big with his life. PT, as many call him, began to serve as a ministry leader to teen boys at the church he was attending in Pennsylvania when he was 28 years old. This position was the launching pad for his first official youth pastor position in Chesapeake, Virginia in 2007.
Since then, PT has ministered in many positions that range from the youth pastor, college pastor, teaching pastor, campus pastor, church planter, and lead pastor. He felt called to plant Refresh Community Church in Chesapeake Virginia in 2015. The grand opening service was held on September 17, 2017, with over 160 people in attendance.
PT holds a bachelor’s degree in Ministry/Bible from Amridge University and a Master’s degree in Church Planting and Evangelism from Liberty Theological Seminary.
When he is not at the church you will find him relaxing at home with his wife Christine and sons Seth and Tyler. Or, you will find him at the ice hockey rink coaching and connecting with young ice hockey players.
PT is a die-hard NHL Pittsburgh Penguins and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins fan. He also cheers on the local Norfolk Admirals ice hockey team. He enjoys cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers as well.
